Zach Braff made a splash with his first feature, “Garden State,” and he’s aiming to do the same ten years later.
The “Scrubs” actor released a trailer for “Wish I Was Here,” his latest directorial effort, an indie funded through Kickstarter.
According to the official description, Braff stars as “a thirtysomething man who finds himself at major crossroads, which forces him to examine his life, his career, and his family.”
Along with the director-star and his "Scrubs" co-star, Donald Faison, the drama stars Kate Hudson, Ashley Greene, Josh Gad and Jim Parsons (“Big Bang Theory”).
Since “Garden State” is fondly remembered for its soundtrack, it’s not a huge surprise to hear one of his go-to bands, The Shins, featured in the teaser.
In perhaps another nod to the previous film, the trailer ends with Braff and two characters in the desert, looking into a canyon not unlike the “infinite abyss” from “Garden State.”
“Wish I Was Here” is due out in July. What did you think of the trailer? Weigh in below!
