LONDON, ENGLAND - FEBRUARY 19: Michael Clifford, Ashton Irwin, Calum Hood and Luke Robert Hemmings of 5 Seconds Of Summer attend The BRIT Awards 2014 at 02 Arena on February 19, 2014 in London, England.
The Australian quartet 5 Seconds of Summer is certainly shining this week, with its new EP "She Looks So Perfect" hitting No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart, right behind the "Frozen" soundtrack.

Michael Clifford, the group's multi-haircolored guitarist, tells us that the success is unexpected, but welcome:

"It's amazing. I always thought when we started, I just assumed that the U.S. was out of reach, and it's nice to know that... When you start a band, you kind of just do it for fun, can never expect stuff that's gonna happen, so when it does happen it's just amazing."

The group is currently on the road in North America, and it will also be joining One Direction, who it opened for last summer, for an arena and stadium tour that begins August 1 in Toronto.

5 Seconds' first full-length album is due out later this year.
