Simon Cowell has found a happy family, with a girlfriend and a new baby, but his story is anything but conventional.
Speaking with the U.K. “Mirror,” the “X Factor” star put his trademark honesty on display when discussing the affair with the wife of his friend, Andrew Silverman.
“I regret that part,” he told the “Mirror.” “But then of course you have a baby and you look at the baby and you kind go, ‘This is what happened from it.’”
Cowell and Lauren Silverman confirmed that they were expecting a child, not long after she and her husband called it quits in the midst of a media firestorm.
His girlfriend welcomed the baby, a son named Eric, and there have been rumors that the duo plans to tie the knot at this point.
Still, Cowell remains as straightforward as ever about the affair, adding, “It is not something I am proud of or wanted to happen in terms of hurting anyone. It just happened.”
The producer previously revealed that he would rejoin the U.K. edition of “The X Factor” and the American series would not return for a fourth season.
