Paul Walker’s mother has been denied a temporary guardianship over her granddaughter, Meadow.
“People” reports that the judge in the case declined to grant an immediate change on Thursday, asking for clarification on the need for “urgency.”
The late actor’s mother, Cheryl Ann Walker, petitioned the court on March 18 for primary custody of Meadow, who currently lives with her mother, Rebecca Soteros.
According to “People,” Soteros has agreed to attend rehab and will maintain custody of her daughter after her return.
Walker’s lawyer, who happens to be the son of film icon Bela Lugosi, could not confirm whether more motions would be filed in response to the current ruling.
The “Fast & Furious” star passed away in a car crash last November. The seventh film in the franchise has since resumed production and will “retire” his character, reportedly through the use of body doubles and CGI for uncompleted scenes.
