The late Amy Winehouse's likeness will not be resurrected for a hologram tour.
While not an outright April Fools’ Day prank, the U.K.’s “The Sun” reported over the weekend that an entrepreneur was planning a tour using 3D technology in the vein of Tupac.
According to “The Huffington Post,” the late “Back to Black” singer’s father, Mitch Winehouse, refuted the news on Twitter.
“No truth in the Hologram story. Utter rubbish as usual,” he tweeted about the reports.
After a public battle with substance abuse, Winehouse passed away in July 2011. After her death, Mitch released an album of previously unshared material, “Lioness: Hidden Treasures.”
Despite the conflicting reports in this case, hologram concerts are being more of a reality. Michael Jackson is among the artists who have gotten the 3D hologram treatment.
