David Cassidy may be a “daydreamer,” but he’ll have a long time to think after being convicted on a DUI charge.
CNN reports that the “Partridge Family” alum pleaded no contest to the charge and was sentenced to three months in an alcohol rehab center.
Aside from that, he must also take part in a nine-month alcohol education program, pay fines and serve probation for five years.
His lawyer explained the circumstances leading him to a lapse in his sobriety.
“[David] was in Los Angeles to attend depositions by Sony Pictures Television, respondents in a lawsuit filed by Cassidy in 2011 over what he claims are monies long due to him from ‘Partridge Family’ merchandise, home video, etc.,” his manager told CNN. “After attending his and his manager’s depositions, it appears as if the pressure led to a brief relapse.”
This is the third DUI for the 63-year-old singer-actor since 2011, who was arrested near the Los Angeles International Airport in January.
