One Direction brethren Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne have recently been revealed as the top-earners in the wildly successful pop group according to MTV UK.  Bandmates Harry Styles, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik are not hurting in their pocketbook’s either.

The reason the pair are most profitable is because they have begun to get heavily involved in the writing process, co-penning more than half the songs for their newest album, “Midnight Memories.”  Writers usually earn nine-percent of a song’s royalty, so they are rapidly becoming young businessmen as well.

The dynamic duo has been involved in writing some songs you may have heard of, including: “Diana,” “Midnight Memories,”, and the mega-smash “Story of My Life.”

The famed quintet was originally put together by media mogul Simon Cowell (who also manages them) on Britain’s The X Factor.  Can you believe they placed third in the competition?  The boys are currently raking in millions from album sales, sold-out stadium tours, and merchandise.  Not too shabby for third place.
