Brooke Burke-Charvet’s out-of-the-blue ousting from her hosting gig on “Dancing with the Stars” had many people shaking their heads.

Now “Us Magazine” reports that the struggling reality series is hoping to court a different demographic of viewers by bringing on Erin Andrews as Tom Bergeron’s new co-host.

“Everyone loved [Brooke], but the execs wanted a whole new show,” an insider tells “Us.” Andrews, who also competed on the series, has a “young male following” that the show is “desperate for.”

Though she posted her initial shocked reaction to the news on Twitter, Burke-Charvet seems to be taking it all in stride.

“So much chatter bout DWTS,” she tweeted. “I’m really cool everyone. I did my 7 seasons, had a blast! I’m ready for a change. I love your loyalty. Thank you!”

The show returns on Monday, March 17, with casting on the show’s contestants to be announced in the near future.
