There could be a new King of Late Night, now that Seth Meyers has kicked off his first week on NBC.
The first episode of Meyers’s new show pulled a 2.6 rating in the overnights, according to “The Hollywood Reporter.”
That makes the best Monday night for “Late Night” in nearly a decade, including Jimmy Fallon’s debut in 2009.
Meyers debuted “Late Night with Seth Meyers” on Monday, marking the occasion with Amy Poehler as his first guest. The pair was later joined by Vice President Joe Biden.
Of course, there’s no real rivalry between Meyers and his fellow “Saturday Night Live” alum, Jimmy Fallon. He even issued a special “Thank You Note” as an homage to his friend’s iconic segment.
“Late Night with Seth Meyers” will return tonight with Kanye West and NFL star Russell Wilson on the docket.
