Melissa McCarthy has been a near-constant presence on the big screen since “Bridesmaids,” and she’ll soon be back in “Tammy.”
Playing what seems like a cousin of her character in “Identity Thief,” she’s back on the other side of the law after playing tough cop Mullins in last summer’s “The Heat.”
As the titular character in the film, which she co-write and co-directed with husband Ben Falcone, the official teaser (via “EW”) opens with her jamming to “Gangsta’s Paradise” as she preps to rob fast food restaurant.
Of course, she’s not quite a skilled con-woman, as her disguise – a fast food bag over her head – limits her ability to hold up the employees.
The comic scene does not introduce any of the other acclaimed stars taking part in the comedy, including Susan Sarandon, Allison Janney, Toni Collette, Sandra Oh, Kathy Bates and Dan Aykroyd.
“Tammy” will be released on July 2. What’s you take on the trailer? Weigh in below!
