Two shows got some bad news this week, one a longstanding cable hit and other freshman series starring a TV legend.

Just days after NBC dropped “Sean Saves the World” from the schedule, the network has done the same for “The Michael J. Fox Show,” according to The Futon Critic.

Though the show was set to mark Fox’s triumphant return to TV fulltime for the first time since leaving “Spin City” following his Parkinson’s diagnosis, but the comedy series was not a big hit with viewers.

The Thursday at 9pm slot will now be filled with “Hollywood Game Night,” hosted by Jane Lynch, beginning February 27 after the Olympics.

In other NBC Universal news, USA announced that “Psych” will end its run later this spring after eight seasons.

The show, which stars James Roday and Dule Hill as a comedic crime-solving duo, will air its series finale on March 26 at 9pm with a one-hour live aftershow featuring a Q&A for the fans.
