Justin Bieber was cleared by federal officials after touching down in the States, but now it seems like there might be more to the story.
CNN reports that the 19-year-old pop star and his father allegedly declined the pilot’s request to stop smoking weed during the flight to New Jersey from Canada.
A source tells CNN that the flight crew members “put on oxygen masks because they were concerned they might inhale so much it would cause them to test positive for drug use.”
Bieber and his father were detained upon landing after officials “detected an odor of marijuana,” but no drugs or any illegal substances were discovered upon a search by drug-sniffing dogs.
Still, the pilot reportedly said that the pair were “verbally abusive” to the airplane’s crew.
This is the latest incident during the singer’s rocky start to 2014, following an arrest on suspicion of DUI, turning himself into Toronto police on an alleged assault charge dating back to December, and the egging incident at his neighbor’s home in January.
