Scott Bakula, who rose to fame as the star of the cult hit “Quantum Leap,” has scored a major role on the latest “NCIS” spinoff, set in New Orleans.
TVLine reports that he will play NCIS Special Agent Pride, who is “driven by the need to do what’s right… with warmth, passion, strength and humor. He’s a unique federal agent working in one of this country’s most unique cities.”
Bakula, who is currently recurring on HBO’s “Looking,” is the first cast in the pilot, which will air as a two-part episode on the “NCIS” mothership. He also starred in the short-lived but critically-acclaimed TNT drama, “Men of a Certain Age.”
CBS has tried their hand at a third drama set in the world of the Naval Crime Investigation Service, passing on “NCIS: Red,” starring John Corbett and Kim Raver, last year.
