“Fast & Furious 7” seemed to be back on track following the unforeseen passing of franchise star Paul Walker.
Though his character was being “retired,” the film has been slotted for a 2015 release. But new addition Kurt Russell says it isn’t that simple.
NPR reports that Russell was speaking to reporters at Sundance about his role as a “father figure” to Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto in the movie.
“They’re having to rewrite, having to do whatever they’re having to do to deal with the situation. Listen, it’s catastrophic,” he said. “It’s the worst thing that could happen to a movie, but it’s not as bad as what happened to Paul.”
Russell added that Walker was “a terrific guy,” and teases that his character’s role has shifted due to the script changes.
“Whether or not this guy dies off in the movie, we don’t know, and that may have changed now significantly, too.”
“Fast 7” will zoom into theaters in April 2015. Do you plan to see it? Weigh in below!
