Most of the focus on the late Paul Walker’s career has focused on his impressive run with the “Fast & Furious” franchise.
Yet the star had other irons in the fire at the time of his death, including a role in an upcoming adaptation of Nicholas Sparks’s “The Best of Me.”
According to Deadline, James Marsden has been offered the role previously held for Walker in the film.
Walker would have starred as one-half of a couple of former high school sweethearts who come back together 20 years later.
Per Deadline, the pair’s “bittersweet reunion reignites the sparks, but the forces that drove them apart back then still get in the way.”
The other half of the couple will be played by Michelle Monaghan, who next appears on HBO’s “True Detective” opposite Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.
Another film originally set to star Walker, “Agent 47,” is looking at “Homeland” star Rupert Friend to take on the role instead.
