Last year could not have gone much better for Jennifer Lawrence, who starred in one of the biggest films of 2013 and won a Best Actress Oscar for “Silver Linings Playbook.”
If there’s one thing she might want to change, it’s her now-infamous fall as she attempted to take the stage to accept her Academy Award.
Speaking with “W” magazine, Lawrence finally explained why she bit it as she walked up those stairs.
“I was at the Oscars, waiting to hear if my name was called, and I kept thinking, Cakewalk, cakewalk, cakewalk,” she told “W.” “I thought, Why is ‘cakewalk’ stuck in my head? And then as I started to walk up the stairs and the fabric from my dress tucked under my feet, I realized my stylist had told me, ‘Kick, walk, kick, walk.’ You’re supposed to kick the dress out while you walk, and I totally forgot because I was thinking about cake! And that’s why I fell.”
Regardless, the moment was incredibly endearing, as was her speech, when she told the crowd that they only gave her a standing ovation because of her fall.
