All good things come to an end, but one of the stars of HBO’s “True Blood” isn’t sticking around to see it go.
TVLine reports that Luke Grimes (“Brothers & Sisters”) has departed the series ahead of production on the show’s seventh and final season.
The role of James, Jessica’s (Deborah Ann Woll) love interest, will be recast. Grimes is reportedly departing based on the character’s arc for the current season, though an HBO rep tells TVLine that the change is “due to the creative direction of the character.”
Though he had hoped to continue filming most of his scenes with Woll, early scripts showed that “they were going in a completely different direction with James,” although it’s unclear what’s in store next season.
“True Blood” will kick into production soon, as season seven is expected to premiere in June 2014. Are you bummed about Luke’s departure or just glad it isn’t one of the originals? Weigh in below!
