A new teaser for Johnny Depp’s latest film has debuted, and the A-list star is attempting to “transcend” the disaster that was this year’s “Lone Ranger” reboot.
The forthcoming sci-fi thriller, “Transcendence,” stars Depp as a researcher who “is uploaded into a computer,” “Entertainment Weekly” reports.
The minute-long trailer mostly centers on a speech by his character as he talks about transcending the limits of human biology in a theory known as Singularity.
As he speaks, a series of binary code continues to mount until the camera pulls back to show Depp’s face assembled from code.
Though no footage has been released, the cast of “Transcendence” also includes Rebecca Hall, Morgan Freeman, Cillian Murphy and “House of Cards” actress Kate Mara.
Notably, the film was directed by Wally Pfister, who won an Oscar for his work as cinematographer on “inception.”
“Transcendence” will be released on April 18. What did you think of the teaser? Are you interested or are you on the fence?
