Having already starred in one of the most beloved baseball movies of all time, Kevin Costner is taking on a new sport.
Per Deadline, as the Super Bowl looms, Costner is only gearing up for the release of “Draft Day,” a football drama in which he plays the “employment-imperiled general manager of the Cleveland Browns.”
Sick of being hated by the fans, he decides to “write his own story” and literally lights the playbook on fire.
Beginning with an unusual take on the NFL’s draft day, Costner’s character stops worrying about his job and starts going with his gut.
The film’s all-star cast also includes Jennifer Garner, Frank Langella, Denis Leary, Terry Crews, Ellen Burstyn, Chi McBride and Ellen Burstyn (“Flowers in the Attic”).
Notably, the project was helmed by acclaimed director Ivan Reitman, who was nominated for a Best Picture Oscar for “Up in the Air” and is also known for directing the “Ghostbusters” films.
“Draft Day” is due out on April 11. What did you think of the trailer? Sound off in the comments section below!
