“We’ve always defined ourselves by the ability to do the impossible,” Matthew McConaughey explains in the first trailer for “Interstellar.”

Though the back-to-back successes of “Inception” and the “Dark Knight” franchise would be nearly impossible to follow up, Christopher Nolan is back and ambitious as ever.

Yet Nolan, who wrote and directed “Interstellar,” which stars Hollywood heavyweights like Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain and Anne Hathaway, wasn’t referring to himself.

Instead, the first teaser for the film follows mankind’s journey to the final frontier: outer space.

Of the impressive cast, which also includes John Lithgow, Ellen Burstyn, Michael Caine, Wes Bentley and Topher Grace, only McConaughey makes an appearance both on-screen and in voiceover.

Still, the beautifully directed preview might just send shivers down your spine, even as most of the movie’s plot details remain a mystery.

According to Deadline, we know that “Interstellar” chronicles “the adventures of a group of explorers who make use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage.”

“Interstellar” will bow in theaters on November 7, 2014. Would you travel through space and time to see it? Weigh in below!
