While actress Idina Menzel should be flying high this morning, the moment is surely a little bittersweet.
On Thursday morning, the star, who voices a lead role in the new Disney hit “Frozen,” was just honored with a Golden Globe nomination for “Let It Go,” an original song she performs in the film.
Yet the actress and her husband, “Private Practice” star Taye Diggs, have announced that they’re separating after ten years of marriage.
“Idina Menzel and Taye Diggs have jointly decided to separate at this time,” reps for the pair tell “People.” “Their primary focus and concern is for their son. We ask that you respect their privacy at this time.”
The couple met when they were both starring in the original Broadway production of “Rent.” They wed in 2003 and have a four-year-old son named Walker.
Diggs starred in “The Best Man Holiday” this fall and has a new TNT drama, “Murder in the First,” set to air next year.
For her part, Menzel is rumored to be reprising her role of Nancy Tremaine in “Enchanted 2,” a proposed sequel to the 2007 live-action musical.
