For the past few years, Cuba Gooding Jr. seemed to fade away from Hollywood.
After memorable turns in "The Butler" and “Machete Kills” this year, the star will return to the big screen early next year in “Life of a King.”
In the new trailer for the film (via “Entertainment Weekly”), which is based on a true story, he plays a newly-released prisoner who gets a job working as a custodian at an inner-city high school.
Gooding Jr. soon finds a way to reach some of the students by teaching them chess – which soon spawns the Big Chair Chess Club, a group that is still active to this day.
Their chess club soon becomes a lifeline and an inspiration for the teens to dream bigger and make a difference.
“Life of a King” also stars Dennis Haysbert, LisaGay Hamilton (“Men of a Certain Age”), Richard T. Jones (“Hawaii Five-0”) and “Friday” actress Paula Jai Parker.
The movie will be released on January 17, 2014? What do you think of the preview for “Life of a King”?
