As promised, the first trailer for “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” made its debut on Thursday morning.
Right from the start, it’s clear that Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) has taken a much darker turn for the sequel.
“Every day, I wake up knowing that the more people I try to save, the more enemies I will make,” he says, before quick shots of his nemesis the Rhino and what appears to be the Green Goblin.
The preview also introduces fans of the new franchise to Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), who is likely set to take on the role of the aforementioned Green Goblin, as his father (Chris Cooper) isn’t looking so hot.
Not all has changed, of course, as Garfield flirts with his real-life beau, Emma Stone, who reprises her role as Gwen Stacy.
The trailer also cuts in a number of scenes featuring the film’s other villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), with their battle raging on as the trailer ends.
