Since “300” taking Hollywood by storm upon its release in 2007, Warner Bros. was faced with a difficult task in outdoing themselves for the sequel.

With the aid of the always-great Eva Green ("Casino Royale")  as the villainous Artemisia, the debut trailer for “300: Rise of an Empire” is off to an auspicious start.

Though Zack Snyder did not return to help the follow-up film, “Rise of an Empire” features the signature style from the original film, adapted from the Frank Miller graphic novel.

According to "Entertainment Weekly," the new movie is also an adaptation of one of Miller’s works, “Xerxes,” with Snyder returning as a producer.

“Rise of an Empire” also stars “Game of Thrones” actress Lena Headey returning as Queen Gorgo, who is out for vengeance, along with Rodrigo Santoro and Jack O’Connell (“Skins”).

“300: Rise of an Empire” will hit theaters on March 7, 2014. Are you down for a “300” sequel? Leave your thoughts in the comments!
