The rumors are true: the upcoming “Batman vs. Superman” film will feature the iconic Wonder Woman.
In fact, Warner Bros. has already found the woman for the job in the form of Gal Gadot, an Israeli newcomer.
According to Deadline, Zack Snyder, who will return to helm the “Man of Steel” sequel, opened up about the casting news.
“Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe,” he said. “Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character.”
In the past, the legendary role has been filled by Lynda Carter in the hit ‘70s TV series, as well as Adrianne Palicki in a failed 2011 NBC pilot.
The project, which will be released in summer 2015, will also star Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck as Superman and Batman, respectively.
