“The Book Thief”: Opening in limited release, this film, based on the bestseller of the same name, centers on a young girl who moves in with a foster family in World War II-era Germany who begins to collect books. “With the help of her new parents and a secret guest under the stairs, she learns to read and creates a magical world that inspires them all,” according to the official release. The film stars Geoffrey Rush, Emily Watson and Sophie Nelisse. Rated PG-13.
“Delivery Man”: Vince Vaughn stars as a man named David who learns that after making anonymous donations to a fertility clinic in his youth, he is the biological father of more than 500 children. The information leads David on a journey “to discover not only his true self but also the father that he could become. The film also stars Chris Pratt (“Parks & Recreation”), Cobie Smulders (“How I Met Your Mother”) and “Under the Dome” star Britt Robertson. Rated PG-13.
“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire”: After winning the Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) return home to District 12. Their success in the games has put some of the districts on the urge of an uprising, leading President Snow (Donald Sutherland) to invoke The Quarter Quell – sending them back into the games. Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, Lenny Kravitz and Stanley Tucci all return in their roles from “The Hunger Games,” with Philip Seymour Hoffman joining the cast as Plutarch Heavensbee. Rated PG-13.
