“Gangster Squad” star Josh Brolin has reportedly checked himself into a rehab center for substance abuse.
“Us Weekly” reports that the star, who was reportedly in consideration for Ben Af has checked himself into a center in Northern California.
“He realized he needed help and is committed to his sobriety,” a source tells “Us."
The actor was allegedly caught on tape earlier this month getting into a physical altercation with another man at a Santa Monica bar.
That same week, Brolin told TMZ that he was through with drinking. Referring to the incident, he added, “Absolutely, it won’t be happening again.
In the meantime, he has several high-profile film projects in the works. “Labor Day,” in which he stars opposite Kate Winslet, debuts in January and is garnering serious Oscar buzz.
The latest Spike Lee film, “Oldboy,” in which he stars with Elizabeth Olsen and Samuel L. Jackson, and Robert Rodriguez’s “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For” are also on the docket for 2014.
