After a few years of starring in comedies like “Movie 43” and “Anchorman 2,” Greg Kinnear will return to drama in the forthcoming film “Heaven Is For Real.”

The film was adapted from the “New York Times” bestselling book “Heaven Is For Real: A Little Boy’s Astounding Story of His Trip To Heaven and Back.”

The book tells the story of Colton Burpo, a young Nebraskan Boy who nearly died during complications from appendicitis.

According to the official synopsis, Kinnear will play his father, a Christian pastor, whose son “claims to have visited Heaven during a near death experience.”

The boy beings to share events that took place before he was even born, including his mother’s (Kelly Reilly) miscarriage.

Margo Martindale and Thomas Haden Church also star, with newcomer Connor Corum taking on the role of Colton.

The film will fittingly be released around Easter 2014. What did you think of the trailer? Weigh in with your thoughts in the comments.
