Lydia McLaughlin is bidding adieu to the “Real Housewives of Orange County” after only one season.
The Bravo star, who is departing the show along with Alexis Bellino and Gretchen Rossi, confirmed the news to “Us Weekly.”
“It’s bittersweet,” the 32-year-old told “Us.” “I compare it to breaking up with a boyfriend you know you’re not going to end up with – it’s hard, but overall you know you’re doing the right thing.”
McLaughlin adds that she never really saw herself as a long-term reality star, but she was “flattered” that producers asked her to return for a second season.
“I never wanted to make a career out of being a housewife. That’s never really been a dream of mine,” she said. “I want to build my brand outside of the Housewives – I’ve always been really honest with the producers about that. I knew while I was filming it that I probably wasn’t going to be doing it again.”
Barring any last-minute changes, the trio of exits leaves Vicki Gunvalson, Heather Dubrow and Tamra Judge as the sole remaining “Orange County” Housewives.
