“I don’t know about you, but my school can get a little insane. Most of us stay up all night and all of us think we’ll live forever.”
So begins the narration in the latest trailer for the upcoming young adult adaptation “Vampire Academy,” and if one thing is certain, it’s that the film’s stars seem to be having a bloody ball.
The minute-long preview shows the film, based on the best-selling book series of the same name, as a sort of “Gossip Girl” by way of “Twilight.”
Zoey Deutch, daughter of Lea Thompson (“Back to the Future”), stars as Rose, one of the girls who attends St. Vladimir’s Academy, where half-human, half-vampires called “dhampirs” coexist with full-fledged vampires.
The trailer kicks off with the film’s core characters attending a school dance before things take a dark turn.
According to CinemaBlend, the movie’s script was written by “Heathers” scribe Daniel Waters and helmed by “Mean Girls” director Mark Waters.
“Vampire Academy” will be released on Valentine’s Day 2014. Do you plan to enroll in the Academy? Share your thoughts on the trailer in the comments!
