Aaron Taylor-Johnson
is trading Kick-A** for a superhero who’s a little more super.

The actor, best known for playing the title role in the film adaptations of the “Kick-A**” comics, has signed on to play Quicksilver in the forthcoming “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” Perez Hilton reports.

After being heavily pursued for the role, the star, who is also starring in a reboot of “Godzilla” in the near future, will take on the role, whose superpowers make him “the world’s fastest man.”

Taylor-Johnson is not the only addition to the Avengers team for the highly-anticipated sequel. Along with James Spader playing Ultron, the film’s main antagonist, Elizabeth Olsen is set to play another new hero called the Scarlet Witch.

The trio joins a slew of returning A-list stars from the original smash hit, including Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo and Jeremy Renner.

Marvel is planning the release of “Age of Ultron” for May 1, 2015. Do you think Aaron can leave Kick-A**’s spandex suit behind and become a superhero?
