Keanu Reeves hasn’t graced the big screen in a while, but that’s all about to change.
In addition to his action flick “Man of Tai Chi,” which is due out on November 1, Reeves has a major Christmas Day release ahead for “47 Ronin.”
For the sci-fi movie, which is set in Japan hundreds of years in the past, the actor plays Kai, a half-British, half-Japanese slave who must become a savior in order to save the world, CinemaBlend reports.
When their master is killed by a warlord, “47 leaderless samurai vow to seek revenge and restore honor to their people,” according to the official synopsis.
Only Kai can help them find their way against “a save world of mythic beasts, shape-shifting witchcraft and wondrous terrors.”
With its somewhat surprising holiday release, “47 Ronin” will feature a great deal of competition, going up against David O. Russell’s “American Hustle,” “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty,” “The Wolf on Wall Street” and Meryl Streep’s “August: Osage County.”
“47 Ronin” is due out on December 25. What did you think of the preview
