After playing a fugitive in the critically-acclaimed “Mud,” Matthew McConaughey is working on the other side of the law for his next project.
The latest trailer for his new HBO series with Woody Harrelson, “True Detective,” shows the duo as a pair of Louisiana detectives caught up in a nearly 20-year hunt to catch a killer.
According to The Futon Critic, Michelle Monaghan also stars in the show’s eight-episode first season, playing the wife of Harrelson’s character, “who struggles to keep her family together as the men in her life become locked in a cycle of violence and obsession.
The series debut will lead into the third season premiere of HBO’s “Girls” at 10pm, which will reportedly feature the return of Andrew Rannells’s Eli.
Per Deadline, Rannells will be upped to a series regular if the show receives a fourth season order as expected.
