It’s official: Jamie Dornan has signed on to fill in for Charlie Hunnam in the upcoming “Fifty Shades of Grey” adaptation.
The news was first rumored earlier this month after Hunnam bowed out to focus on his family, but the model-turned-actor was only one of a few possible candidates.
Now, the book’s author, E.L. James, has confirmed that he will play Christian Grey on Twitter, according to “Us Weekly.”
“Stow your twitchy palms ladies… our man is here,” she tweeted. “Welcome to #TeamFifty @JamieDornan1.”
Though not exactly a household name, Dornan is best known for his short-lived role on ABC’s “Once Upon a Time,” playing the town sheriff.
“Everyone trusts that he’ll make an excellent Christian and will do the role justice,” a source tells “Us.”
Dornan will star opposite Dakota Johnson, who will play female lead Anastasia Steele in the film. What do you think of the recasting? Let us know in the comments!
