Nothing keeps a good Shadowhunter down. At least, that’s the mantra for the “Mortal Instruments” film series, which has a sequel on the way.

Despite the lackluster reviews and box office performance for “City of Bones,” Constantin Film has chosen to move forward with its adaptation of the book series’ second installment, “The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes.”

In fact, “Entertainment Weekly” reports that a rep for the production company says that the reports stating the sequel was scrapped had no merits, instead taking responsibility for the marketing of the film.

The Lily Collins-starring sequel will go into production in 2014, though it’s unclear if the originally-attached Sigourney Weaver will come back on board as “head of the Shadow Hunters.”

Collins starred with Jamie Campbell Bower (“Camelot”) and Kevin Zegers (“Gossip Girl”), which allegedly only recouped half of its budget upon release in August.
