The first trailer for the latest “Paranormal Activity” flick has been unveiled, and it’s a doozy.
The film, titled “Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones,” is something of a spinoff from the franchise and is not “Paranormal Activity 5,” Yahoo reports.
Instead, that sequel is expected to hit theaters in October, months after “The Marked Ones” debuts in January.
According to "Entertainment Weekly,” the story follows Jesse (Andrew Jacobs), who, “after being ‘marked,’ begins to be pursued by mysterious forces while his family and friends try to save him.
The new found-footage horror film is set in Oxnard, California, unlike the other four films’ suburban settings.
Yet “The Marked Ones” dovetails nicely with original “Paranormal Activity” when the characters find a VHS tape labeled “Katie and Kristi,” names that will be familiar to fans of the other films.
“Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones” will be released on January 3, 2014. What do you think of the new film? Let us know in the comments!
