Kate Middleton chose an interesting place to make her first solo royal appearance since giving birth: the volleyball court.
In keeping with her and hubby Prince William’s trend of loosening up the royal reins, Kate attended an event for one of her favorite charities, SportsAid, in London’s Olympic Park, “People” reports.
There, the Duchess of Cambridge looked great as she showed off her volleyball skills in an admittedly strange choice of athletic wear, with navy leggings, several-inch wedges and a blazer over a striped shirt.
“She was really good,” a volleyball player named Jordan Dalrymple told “People.” “She told me she has played beach volleyball before. We were quite impressed. She had the basic skills down – and in heels.”
According to the organization’s official site, SportsAid “helps the sports stars of tomorrow today by giving them cash awards during the defining early years of their careers.”
Next Kate will have to prepare for her son’s christening, which will take place on Wednesday, October 23.
