Jenny McCarthy is known for being outspoken, but a new report suggests that daytime watchers might not be down with her “View”s.
McCarthy, who kicked off her co-hosting gig on ABC’s “The View” in September, might not be the perfect replacement for Elisabeth Hasselbeck as originally thought.
“ABC has begun doing deep research on Jenny’s work on the show and the initial findings are that viewers want to tune out the second she opens her mouth!” a source tells Radar Online. “The date has revealed that she is FAR more off-putting than Elisabeth.”
If the rumors are true, the long-standing daytime series could be in trouble come summer 2014, when Barbara Walters steps down.
“Right now they’re just trying to adjust Jenny’s performance on the show so that she comes off as more appealing, but that’s an uphill battle,” the insider adds.
That would leave Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd as the sole panelists left, as Joy Behar left “The View” around the same time as Hasselbeck.
“The View” airs weekdays at 11am on ABC. Grade Jenny’s performance on the show for yourself in the comments!
