Miley Cyrus has been everywhere of late, showing off her wild side with crazy outfits, twerking and tongues.
But in a new sit-down with “Ellen,” Cyrus showed off a surprisingly mature side of herself when discussing her much-discussed split from Liam Hemsworth.
“I keep saying I’m the happiest I’ve ever been and that’s not even a dig,” she said (via E!). “That’ just me, because I really am genuinely happy finally with myself, which I think sometimes it takes you separating yourself from someone else to really be happy with who you are. I’ve never been able to just be alone, and I’m obsessed with being alone and like hearing my thoughts.”
Cyrus also responded to some critiques of her new album “Bangerz” that a number of the songs seem directly to be about her then-spiraling engagement.
“I’m like, ‘This is really like telling a story,’” she realized after listening to a physical copy of the record in her car. “I think I knew more intuitively where my life was going than I actually thought I did at the time.”
“Bangerz” is out now and is set to hit no. 1 on the Billboard 200 by next week.
