TLC has released a new song, "Meant To Be," that will be part of "20," the companion album to the group's upcoming VH1 film "CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story."

The song was co-written by Ne-Yo, and the group's Rozonda "Chili" Thomas tells us that the track upholds the creative virtues that helped make TLC so successful during its 90s heyday:

"Lyrically we always talked about relevant stuff and, y'know, when we first came out, because of our, the image, people said, 'Oh, they look kind of gimmicky. It's just a fad.' And we were able to prove that we weren't that, y'know?"

The rest of the "20" album, which comes out October 15 features TLC hits such as "Waterfalls," "No Scrubs," "Unpretty" and "Creep."

The VH1 movie debuts October 21, and the group -- now a duo since the 2002 death of Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes -- also appears on the recent J Cole single "Crooked Smile" and is planning to release a new album in 2014.

TLC played live for the first time in four years on July 27 at the MixTape Festival in Hershey, Pa.
