Katy Perry has unveiled “Walking on Air,” the latest track from her new album “Prism.”
No, the song isn’t her follow-up single to “Roar.” Instead, after letting fans choose from two audio snippets, she released “Dark Horse” before deciding to drop the other track as well.
But for Perry mega-fans curious about her next single, she confirmed that “Unconditionally,” which is described as a “power ballad,” will serve as her next single.
“It’s a love song and it’s different from ‘Roar’ – it’s not eighth-notey,” she shared. “And I think it’s a universal love song that everyone’s going to be able to relate to no matter the age, no matter male or female. It’s my favorite song off the record.”
“Walking on Air” is light and inspired by CeCe Peniston’s 1991 single “Finally,” which she said came about when she saw a group of people roller-skating to house music in Central Park.
“Prism” will be released on October 22. What do you think of “Walking on Air”?
