Could it be that less is more when it comes to Miley Cyrus?
After watching the newly released Director’s Cut of Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” video, we’re beginning to think so.
Directed by Terry Richardson, this new version of the video is a straight on, close up of Cyrus simply singing what it turns out is a powerful song.
We’re not distracted by her riding a wrecking ball in her underwear or nude. There are no slow motion segments of Cyrus licking a mallet. Richardson delivers us a no holds bar emotionally charged Cyrus who wears the pain of the lyrics on her face and in her tears.
This new version just goes to show that if a good song, powerfully performed doesn’t require tongues, twerking or being topless.
When done well and presented artfully, it can hit you like a wrecking ball.
