“NCIS” is heading south.
“Variety” reports that CBS is eyeing another spinoff to their megahit, which has already spawned one successful offshoot in the form of “NCIS: LA.”
The new project would take place in New Orleans, because the city, “with its debauchery and party scene, is a magnet for military personnel on leave and the trouble that comes with all the off-duty fun.”
It’s too early for casting, but the new characters will be introduced in two episodes of the original series to air in spring 2014.
The network made another attempt at another spinoff last season for “NCIS: Red,” which failed to receive a series pickup after being introduced on two episodes of the Los Angeles-based show.
The series which would have followed a traveling team of Naval Criminal Investigative Service agents, including John Corbett and Kim Raver.
Meanwhile, the two current “NCIS” series return back to back Tuesday night on CBS, beginning at 8pm. Would you watch “NCIS: New Orleans”?
