Thor is back with a vengeance in “Thor: The Dark World,” due out later this fall.
Now the latest preview of the movie has dropped, giving fans a nearly 3-minute look at the Norse god’s return to his home planet.
Thor (Chris Hemsworth) isn’t alone of course, as his newly-imprisoned brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) is back after the events of “The Avengers.”
Natalie Portman’s Jane and her friend, played by Kat Dennings (“2 Broke Girls”) are back as well, and this time, they seem to be getting into the action a bit more as they head to Asgard for the first time.
Yet the new footage in the trailer , as well as a tie-in to the ABC’s TV spinoff, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” which kicks off on Tuesday, September 24.
According to Zap2it, Joss Whedon, who wrote and directed “The Avengers,” stepped in to help rewrite some of the scenes for the sequel.
Whedon, of course, is already hard at work on “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” in which confirmed that Loki would not return in an effort to add new blood to the franchise.
The film also stars Sir Anthony Hopkins, Jaimie Alexander and Idris Alba in returning roles. “Thor: The Dark World” hits theaters on November 8.
