Disney is playing fast and loose with their premiere dates, shifting the releases for several highly-anticipated features.
Notably, “Maleficent” has been moved up to May 30, 2014, with “Deadline” noting that the shift keeps the film out of the way for sure-to-be box office smashes “Fast & Furious 7” and “Transformers: Age of Extinction.”
Other films being shifted include “The Good Dinosaur,” an original Pixar film that had a major shakeup with director Bob Peterson’s high-profile departure from the project.
As Pixar regroups, “Dinosaur” has been shifted to fall 2015, knocking the “Finding Nemo” sequel back nearly a full year as well. The follow-up, titled “Finding Dory,” can now be expected on June 17, 2016.
