Ben Affleck is well aware of the backlash to his being cast as the Batman in the upcoming “Man of Steel” sequel.
MTV News reports that during Affleck’s appearance on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” the star admitted to turning the computers off for a bit after the internet exploded over the news of the “Batman vs. Superman” casting.
Still, he told Jimmy that none of it really matters until the fans get to see the final product, but either way, he can take it.
“I’m a big boy… I can handle anything,” he said. “This is not… I handle s***… I’m very tough.”
Affleck’s wife, actress Jennifer Garner, also weighed in to MTV on him landing the role, saying she was both excited for him and excited to see what he can do with it.
“I was excited because he had a real take on what he wanted to do, and you know, I have to say, my husband is a pretty great storyteller himself, and I’m excited to watch him do it,” she said.
Interestingly, the couple met filming another superhero film, “Daredevil,” and were married two years later.
