Well, that didn’t take long.

Only three days after “Insidious: Chapter 2” hit theaters, garnering more than $40 million for one of the greatest horror openings of all time, a third installment in the franchise has already been given the green-light.

According to “The Hollywood Reporter,” James Wan, who helmed the first two films, is not likely to return to direct “Insidious 3.”

It’s also too early to tell which of the cast members from the first two films will return for the threequel. In a somewhat unprecedented move for a horror franchise, the original family from “Insidious” returned for “Chapter 2.”

That cast was headlined by Rose Byrne (“Bridesmaids”) and Patrick Wilson (“Girls”), who played a married couple whose son becomes possessed, while Barbara Hershey played Wilson’s mother in both films as well.

The sequel dug into the family’s backstory, explaining a “mysterious childhood secret that has left them dangerously connected to the spirit world.”

Are you excited for this major horror news just in time for Halloween? Did you think “Insidious: Chapter 2” was as good as the first?
