After 10 years, it looks like Karev is finally going to hash out his troubled relationship with his father this season on “Grey’s Anatomy.”

According to TVLine, Alex Karev’s (Justin Chambers) father will stop by Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital this season, and he’ll look a great deal like “Dexter” star James Remar.

Remar, who played the father of the titular character on the hit Showtime series for several seasons, is on board for several episodes of “Grey’s,” likely giving his character some time to resolve the tension between his son.

Though Alex’s father has never appeared, he has been mentioned on the series before, in an early episode when Alex confided in a patient who witnessed abuse in his home that his own abusive father left home when he was young.

“Grey’s Anatomy” returns on Thursday, September 26 with a two-hour premiere on ABC.
