Despite rumors that Amanda Bynes has been steadily recovering since being placed in psychiatric care, new reports suggest that the troubled starlet is in it for the long haul.
According to Radar Online, her physicians will be recommending long-term hospitalization to a judge at the upcoming hearing on September 30.
Bynes is currently believed to be staying at UCLA Medical Center after being moved from a Ventura County facility, with a source saying that the star has been responding well to treatment.
However, the insider tells Radar that because a diagnosis is so complex, “her treatment team believes Amanda would benefit from prolonged treatment at UCLA, for at least the rest of the year.”
The actress’s mother, Lynn, has been granted a temporary conservatorship over her daughter’s medical decisions, which will be revisited at the scheduled hearing.
Bynes was originally placed under an involuntary psych hold earlier this summer after allegedly setting a driveway on fire in California.
