“Real Housewives of New Jersey” might not return for a sixth season, and all the blame can’t be placed squarely on Teresa Giudice.
According to Radar Online, despite rumors that the cast began filming to capture Giudice’s legal battle on-screen, the Housewives have not even been given contracts yet.
While previous reports made it seem like Giudice’s 39-count indictment could have put an end to the show, a production insider says it’s just the opposite, but the fact that negotiations have not begun is frightening the show’s stars.
“With Teresa’s crazy indictment and October trial coming up the ladies know that Bravo wants them all back, but they don’t know if they’re going to be able to get any more money,” the source said. “They would basically be filming two seasons back-to-back without a break and that’s a lot more pressure for all of them.”
The source tells Radar that the ladies will not get contracts until the reunion for season 5 is filmed in early September.
“Real Housewives of New Jersey” airs Sundays at 8pm on Bravo.
